Pastoral Care

Student Counselling.

A confidential, caring space for every St Theresa's girl.

"Every girl deserves to be heard, believed, and walked alongside."

Growing up is not always easy. At St Theresa's we believe that a girl learns best when she feels safe, valued and supported. Our Student Counselling service exists so that no girl ever has to carry her worries alone — whether they come from home, from the classroom, from her friendships, or from somewhere harder to name.

Conversations with the school Counsellor are confidential. Information is shared with parents, staff or outside authorities only when a girl's safety — or another child's safety — requires it, and wherever possible this is done together with the girl.

How we can help

Family & home life

Adjusting to life away from home, family stress, bereavement, or difficulties between a girl and her parents or guardians.

Bullying & safety

Any form of bullying, intimidation, or unkindness — whether in the dormitories, the classroom, or online.

Abuse & safeguarding

A confidential first point of contact for any girl who has experienced sexual, physical or emotional abuse. Disclosures are handled with the utmost care and, where required by law, escalated safely.

Academic pressure

Exam anxiety, study skills, motivation, subject choices, and managing the demands of SGCSE and IGCSE preparation.

Friendships & relationships

Navigating friendships, peer pressure, identity, self-esteem, and questions about boys and relationships.

Faith & values

A space to talk through spiritual questions, moral dilemmas, and growing into the young woman God calls each girl to be.
